52 Week Photos Retouching Makeover Photoshop Actions Elements

Thank you all for the wonderful submissions this week, you have outdone yourselves as always! I’ll admit I am a nut for all things vintage, so I loved looking through the “vintage” images this week. There were some amazing and unexpected finds out there. Nicely done! I am also a big music lover, so I really enjoyed learning about your favorite songs as they might appear though the lens. Another great week … thank you again to everyone that participated. I look forward to seeing what you all have in store this coming week’s themes!

For my photo of the week I selected the theme “Favorite Song” and selected one of our family’s favorite songs, “As Simple As It Should Be,” by the very talented Tristan Prettyman. This song of hers has been playing on my family blog for a few years now, even despite the fact that I hate it when music comes on automatically when you log onto a site and know others feel the same way … I can’t help it because I’m one of those people that love having a soundtrack to the moments and special times in their lives and it just feels like part of my personal blog now. Anyway, a photo of my two baby girls sleeping together shows one of those many simple but precious moments that make life amazing (believe it or not I was on that tiny sliver of sofa right before I decided to capture this moment with the camera, as we were all sleeping squished up together there in the middle of the night – this was taken by the light of a lamp only).

And I’m going to cheat and post two …

Thank you for the education on this. I have long admired the eyes in your photos. I am a novice photographer. I’ve done it for awhile but not had the time to dedicate to it. I love your photoshop actions. I currently have photoshop elements 8. What action would you recommend for a beginner (I don’t really under stand the 30% opacity….you mention). Thank you.
